On October 7, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi met with a delegation of U.S. lieutenant governors headed by Chair of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) Barbara Lawton, also Lieutenant Governor of the State of Wisconsin. The members of the delegation also included lieutenant governors from the states of Kansas, Alabama, Connecticut and Nevada. Both sides exchanged views on Sino-U.S. relations, bilateral economic and trade cooperation and other issues of common concern.
