Vice Minister Wu Dawei Attends and Addresses the High-Level Seminar to Celebrate the Entry into Force of the Kyoto Protocol

The Kyoto Protocol to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change enters into force on February 16, 2005. On the afternoon of February 16, China High-Level Seminar to Celebrate the Entry into Force of the Kyoto Protocol was held in the Media Center in Beijing. More than 100 delegates from government departments, the business community, research institutions, press and media as well as United Nations agencies to China and foreign embassies in China attended the seminar.

Vice Minister Wu Dawei attended and addressed the meeting. He highly appraised the positive influence of the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol, pointed out the difficulties faced by the international community in responding to climate change and looked into the future trends of international cooperation in climate change. He also shared with the delegates China's efforts in responding to climate change and expressed China's will to continue its cooperation with the international community in the area.
