Ambassador Zheng Qingdian and Madam Hosted Reception for the 59th Anniversary of the Founding of China

On Sept. 24, 2008 Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh H. E. Mr. Zheng Qingdian and Madam hosted a reception to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Around 400 guests including Honorable Adviser for Agriculture of Bangladesh Caretaker Government, H. E. Dr. C. S. Karim, Chief of Bangladesh Army Staff, Naval Staff, Air Staff, leaders of major political parties, social elites, foreign envoys, overseas Chinese and representatives from Chinese companies attended the reception.
Ambassador Zheng said over the past 59 years great changes have taken place in China as China has made significant achievements in developing its society, economy and improving people’s livelihood. He spoke highly of Sino-Bangladesh friendship and expressed gratitude to Bangladesh for its aid and support to China’s earthquake disaster relief and hosting the 29th Olympic Games. He said that China stands ready to promote the comprehensive cooperative partnership with Bangladesh along with concerted efforts from Bangladesh. On behalf of Bangladesh government, Dr. Karim congratulated on the 59th anniversary of the founding of China and praised China’s remarkable achievements in its reform and opening up. He said Bangladesh attaches great importance to its relationship with China and hoped that the cooperation between the two countries could be deepened and the traditional friendship could be further enhanced.
The atmosphere of the reception was warm and friendly. Guests lauded China’s achievements of its modernization and spoke highly of China’s ideology of peace, development and cooperation of its foreign policy and wished China continuous development, stability and prosperity.
Photos on China’s reform and opening up and Beijing Olympic Games were also on display during the reception.
